💡Sometimes, Comprehend may place information in the wrong section or repeat certain details. That’s because it doesn’t always know where you want each piece of information to go unless it's been trained on your preferences!

Here are two ways to fix that and make sure your notes come out exactly how you want them:

✅ Option 1: Use the ‘Learn’ Button to Teach Comprehend from Your Edits (Recommended)

How to Train Comprehend Using Your Edits

Comprehend can learn from the changes you make to your notes—so it gets smarter and more accurate with each session. Watch the video below for a quick walkthrough on how to train the AI using the 'Learn' button:

Follow These Steps:

Open your patient's note in your EMR
Open the Comprehend Chrome extension and click '+New Visit' or open a previously recorded visit
If you click '+ New Visit' make sure to click Record and Stop Record (this signals Comprehend to sync to the note you're next to)
Make edits in your EMR—delete, reword, reorganize, or format things however you want.
Once your edits are done, click the Learn button in the Comprehend extension.
That’s it! The AI will now remember your preferences for future notes.

If Comprehend isn’t picking up your voice during a visit, follow these quick steps to get things working again. Most issues are caused by microphone access settings or external audio devices.

How Comprehend Uses Your Microphone

Comprehend uses your computer’s microphone to transcribe your visit in real time. It works directly from the browser, using our extension. If the extension doesn't have access to your microphone hear, it won’t be able to fill out your note.

✅ 1. Make Sure Your Microphone Is Unmuted

Check if your mic is muted by pressing F8 (this is a mute/unmute key on many keyboards and headsets).
If using a headset, lapel mic, or AirPods, make sure they're connected and functioning.
If wanting to use your computer's microphone please disconnect from Bluetooth

To do this follow these steps:

Open the App Store: Locate and open the App Store app on your iPad or tablet.
Search for Orion: In the App Store search bar, type "Orion" or "Orion Browser by Kagi".
Download the app: Tap on the "Orion Browser by Kagi" app from the search results.
Install Orion: Tap the "Get" button to start the download and installation process. You may need to authenticate with your Apple ID.

How to use the Write Note Feature!

The Write Note field allows you to type information directly into a visit while recording or before starting a recording. Any information entered into this field is automatically included in the generated note. This feature is useful for adding measurements, copied text, or details you prefer not to dictate aloud. With Write Notes, you can type during a visit while you are actively recording.

| Anything you enter will be included in your final generated note when you click Comprehend (you still need to hit record for Write Notes to be used in note generation).

How to Use the Visit Notes Field

Open the Write Notes Field During Recording

While recording a visit, click the Pencil Icon in the Transcript Field to open the notes field. Use this field to quickly enter supporting details without needing to speak everything into the transcript.

Add Information to the Write Notes Field

Type any information you want included in the final generated note. Common examples include:

Range of motion measurements
Objective findings
Abbreviations or shorthand
Details you do not want spoken aloud
Text copied and pasted from another source | Anything entered into this field will be incorporated into note generation once you hit Comprehend!

You can create custom templates with any sections you need! Since we do not integrate with your EMR, Comprehend won't directly fill out the note.
Instead, the note is generated within the Comprehend extension, and you can easily copy and paste the information into the appropriate sections of your EMR
