Filling Out the Note

1. Comprehend connects directly to the note you’re viewing in WebPT.
2. It recognizes the visit type (e.g., Initial Evaluation, Daily Note) and fills in only the relevant sections.
3. Available sections appear in the Comprehend extension:

• Subjective
• Objective: updates comments with measurements, special tests, and MMT
• Assessment: enter the Noteadd problem and goal boxes first → click Comprehend to fill out goals
• Flowsheet: enter exercises first → click Comprehend to fill sets/reps/weights
• Chargesheet: enter billing codes first → click Comprehend to fill related info

Filling Out the Goals:

• Add the goal and problem boxes first before you click Comprehend! We can only fill out boxes that are open on your screen.

Filling Out the Chargesheet / Billing:

• Add the billing codes from the visit first and then click Comprehend

Filling Out the Flowsheet:

• You’ll need to add the exercises first before clicking Comprehend. Once the exercises are in place, the AI will automatically fill in all the details such as sets, reps, and weight.

💬 How to Use the Comprehend Extension

Comprehend works in three easy steps:

1. ⏺️ Record your visit (live or summarized)
2. 📝 Generate your note directly into WebPT
3. ✅ Customize what sections update and train the AI to sound more like you

⏺️ Recording Your Visit:

1. Open the Patient Chart – You don’t need to have it open while recording, only when you’re ready to fill it out later.
2. Open the Comprehend extension – Click the puzzle icon in Chrome and select Comprehend.

3. Click “+ New Visit” – This creates a new recording.
4. Let Comprehend sync to the page (if a note is open).
5. Record your visit – You can record for up to 120 minutes.
6. Click Stop when you’re finished.
7. AI processes the recording – This takes approximately 3–10 seconds.
8. EMR Note Type – Comprehend automatically matches your visit type, but you can change it manually if needed.

1. After your visit is recorded, click Comprehend to generate the note.

• Note: Comprehend fills only visible dropdown text boxes.

2. Review your note and submit.

🧩 Skipping Sections You Don’t Want Filled

Option 1 – Skip Entire Section (example plan section)

1. Open your patient note.
2. Open Comprehend extension → + New Visit.
3. Scroll to the section → toggle to Skip (click the left area of the toggle)
4. Setting saves automatically for that visit type.

Response Options: 

Option 2 – Skip Certain Boxes

1. Open patient note.
2. Open Comprehend extension → + New Visit.
3. Click the section name → View More.
4. Check Skip next to specific boxes you don’t want filled.

✍🏽 Customizing Your Notes – Learn from Edits

1. Generate your note.
2. Edit it however you want (add, remove, reword).
3. Click Learn to train the AI from your edits.

🔄 Can Comprehend Update Previous Notes?

Yes! If your EMR carries notes forward, Comprehend can update instead of rewriting.

1. Open your previous note in WebPT.
2. Open Comprehend extension → + New Visit.
3. Click the section you want to update.
4. Add or edit instructions for that section.
5. Click Save.

⚙️ What Do the Buttons Mean?

Sync – Shows what fields Comprehend could fill.

Comprehend – Generates the note for all open sections.

Refresh button – Regenerates the note for a single section only.
