📚 Getting Started with Comprehend + Practice Pro

Comprehend works in three simple steps:

1. ⏺️ Record your visit
2. 📝 Generate your SOAP note and flow sheet
3. ✅ Review compliance, coding suggestions, and customize your documentation

⏺️ Recording Your Visit

Step 1: Open the Chrome Extension

• Open the Comprehend Chrome extension.
• Click + New Visit.

Step 2: Start Recording

• Click Record to begin capturing the session.
• Record continuously
• Pause/start as needed
• Use a “brain dump” workflow after the session

Step 3: Dictate Key Clinical Information

Speak naturally while documenting:

• Subjective updates
• Pain levels
• Objective measures
• ROM/MMT findings
• Exercises performed
• Sets/reps/resistance
• Manual therapy
• Treatment response
• Plan of care

Example:

• “Patient reports 3/10 shoulder pain.”
• “Right shoulder flexion 150 degrees.”
• “Performed rows with blue TheraBand 2 sets of 10.”

Step 4: Stop Recording

• Click Stop when finished.
• Audio uploads automatically in real time.
• Once uploaded, click Comprehend.

📝 Generating the Note

After recording:

• Click Comprehend to generate the note.
• The system automatically reviews the transcript and fills in the SOAP note sections.

Review:

• Subjective
• Objective
• Assessment
• Plan

Important:

• Only information verbally stated in the recording can be added to the note.
• If information is missing, click Resume and dictate the missing details.

📋 Flow Sheet Integration

Comprehend can automatically update the flow sheet based on the exercises and interventions mentioned during the visit.

Examples of recognized items:

• Rows
• Joint mobilizations
• Side-lying external rotation
• Resistance bands
• Sets and reps

🧩 Skipping Sections You Don’t Want Filled

Option 1 – Skip Entire Section (example plan section)

1. Open your patient note.
2. Open Comprehend extension → + New Visit.
3. Scroll to the section → toggle to Skip (click the left area of the toggle)
4. Setting saves automatically for that visit type.

Response Options: 

Option 2 – Skip Certain Boxes!

Open patient note.

1. Open Comprehend extension → + New Visit.
2. Click the section name → View More.
3. Check Skip next to specific boxes you don’t want filled.

1. Generate your note.
2. Edit it however you want (add, remove, reword).
3. Click Learn to train the AI from your edits.

🔄 Can Comprehend Update Previous Notes?

Yes! If your EMR carries notes forward, Comprehend can update instead of rewriting.

1. Open your previous note in WebPT.
2. Open Comprehend extension → + New Visit.
3. Click the section you want to update.
4. Add or edit instructions for that section.
5. Click Save.

⚙️ What Do the Buttons Mean?

Sync – Shows what fields Comprehend could fill.

Comprehend – Generates the note for all open sections.

Refresh button – Regenerates the note for a single section only.
