Using Comprehend on iPad

Overview

Comprehend now features native iPad integration, allowing you to document patient visits directly within the Comprehend app. No separate browser required! The iPad experience mirrors the familiar Chrome extension workflow, with the added convenience of a collapsible side panel that stays out of your way when you don't need it.

Getting Started

Logging In

1. Open the Comprehend app on your iPad and log in.
2. Navigate to Menu > Your EMR Tab

1. Log in to Your EMR
2. Locate the Comprehend side panel — a floating panel icon on the right side of the screen.
3. Tap the panel to expand it and enter your credentials to log in.

Recording a Visit

Step 1: Open a Note

Navigate to the patient's current note inside your EMR, just as you would on a desktop.

Step 2: Activate the Side Panel

Tap the Comprehend side panel icon on the right side of the screen. You can drag it up or down to reposition it anywhere along the edge of your screen for easy access.

Step 3: Create a New Visit

Tap "+ New Visit" inside the panel — the same action as creating a new visit in the Chrome extension.

Step 4: Record the Encounter

Tap Record and begin narrating or dictating the details of the patient's visit. Cover everything relevant to the encounter, including:

• Chief complaint and history
• Range of motion or clinical findings
• Relevant patient history (e.g., mechanism of injury)
• Treatment plan and frequency of visits
• Goals for recovery

Step 5: Generate the Note

Tap Comprehend to process the recording. Within a few seconds, Comprehend will automatically populate your note fields, including:

• Subjective
• Objective
• Assessment
• Plan
• Procedures
• Goals

Managing the Side Panel

The Comprehend side panel is designed to be flexible and non-intrusive:

• Hide the panel at any time by tapping the panel icon — your note will continue generating in the background.
• Reopen the panel whenever you're ready to review the populated fields.
• You can record your session, dismiss the panel, interact with your patient or EMR freely, then reopen it to review the completed note.
