How to Record and Access Your Patient Visits in Comprehend

Visit Recordings: How They Work

🎙️ How to Start Recording / Talk about what happened during a Visit

  1. Open your EMR.
  2. Click the Comprehend extension in your browser (top right, puzzle piece icon).
  3. Click ‘+ New Visit’ to begin recording your session.
  4. Click ‘Record’ to start recording the visit — either live with your patient, or to record yourself summarizing what happened afterward.

💡 Tip: If you already have a patient’s note open in your EMR when you click ‘New Visit,’ Comprehend will automatically scan the page and name the visit using the patient’s name.

If no note is open, that’s okay! You can manually rename the visit, or Comprehend will auto-name it based on what’s recorded.

  1. When you’re done, click ‘Stop’.
  2. The Stop button will turn into a ‘Resume’ button — you can click this at any time to add more details.

This is great for things you may not have said out loud, like:

    • Your assessment of the patient
    • Results of special tests
    • Objective measures

📁 How to Access Past Recordings

  1. Open the Comprehend extension.
  2. Click the menu (☰) in the top left corner.
  3. Select ‘Visits’.
  4. You’ll see a list of visits from the past 7 days.

To view more, remove or adjust the date filter in the top right!

  1. Click into the visit you want to use.
  2. You can always click ‘Resume’ on any visit to add more information!
