How Comprehend Works with Fusion
Comprehend integrates directly with your patient notes in Fusion. It automatically recognizes the visit type—like Initial Evaluation, Daily Note, or Follow-Up—and fills only the relevant sections. You can generate notes, goals, billing codes, and flowsheets quickly, all while customizing the AI to match your style.

Step 1: Record Your Visit
- Open the Patient Chart
- Open the Comprehend extension in Chrome (puzzle icon → Comprehend).
- Click + New Visit to start a new recording.
- Let Comprehend sync to the page (if a note is already open).
- Record your visit (up to 120 minutes).
- Click Stop when finished.
- Comprehend processes the recording in 3–10 seconds.
- Recording is deleted immediately; only the transcript is used.
- EMR Note Type is detected automatically but can be manually adjusted.
Step 2: Fill Out Notes in Fusion
After recording:
- Click Comprehend to generate your note in Fusion.
- Comprehend fills only the applicable sections based on visit type.
- Review the note and edit in Fusion
- Click Learn to train the AI on your writing style.
Step 3: Skipping Sections or Boxes
Option 1: Skip Entire Section
- Open note → Comprehend extension → + New Visit.
- Scroll to the section → toggle Skip (saved automatically).
Option 2: Skip Specific Boxes
- Click the section → View More → Check Skip next to specific boxes.** **
Response Options:
Setting | Description |

Add-on | Add AI note below existing text |
Step 4: Customize Notes – Learn from Edits
- Generate your note.
- Edit text (add, remove, reword).
- Click Learn to teach the AI your tone, phrasing, and structure.

Step 5: Understanding Buttons
- Sync: Shows fields Comprehend could fill (optional).
- Comprehend: Generates notes for all open sections.
- Refresh: Regenerates a single section.
Refresh Icon Colors:
- Green: Note successfully generated as instructed.
- Yellow: Note generated, but some info missing in recording.
