Comprehend AI Scribe: Prompting AI by Manually Writing Your Own Instructions
What are instructions?
Instructions are where you guide the AI. Write to the AI as if you were telling a real scribe how you want your notes written. It performs best with explicit direction and short sentences.
Refining Your Instructions
You can change or add to instructions as you see fit. You can instruct the AI on how you want a note written, just as you would communicate your preferences to a real person if they were writing your notes.
We are going to break this down into 3 distinct parts →
Format:
1️⃣ What format should the AI reply in?
- Examples:
- Organized Bullets, Paragraph format, etc.
- Modifiers are welcome here. Words like ‘brief’ or ‘detailed’ or ‘concise’
Content:
2️⃣ What do you want the AI to report?
- Be very explicit in what you want.
- Examples:
- Write the subjective Portion of the note.”
- The most applicable ICD-10 billing code for this patient encounter
Additional Context:
3️⃣ Any additional context for the AI.
- Be very explicit in what you want.
- Examples
- “This is a follow up visit so be sure to make this concise and short while still being thorough.”
