💡Sometimes, Comprehend may place information in the wrong section or repeat certain details. That’s because it doesn’t always know where you want each piece of information to go unless it's been trained on your preferences!

Here are two ways to fix that and make sure your notes come out exactly how you want them:

Follow These Steps:

Open your patient's note in your EMR
Open the Comprehend Chrome extension and click '+New Visit' or open a previously recorded visit
If you click '+ New Visit' make sure to click Record and Stop Record (this signals Comprehend to sync to the note you're next to)
Make edits in your EMR—delete, reword, reorganize, or format things however you want.
Once your edits are done, click the Learn button in the Comprehend extension.
That’s it! The AI will now remember your preferences for future notes.

You can train the AI using the Learn button

By default, the AI creates a standard note if you haven't uploaded your own examples yet.

Step by Step:

After the note is filled out in your EMR. Make any edits you'd like (in your EMR)—add details, delete anything unnecessary, or change the formatting.
Once you're happy with the note, click Learn. This teaches the AI your preferences based on your changes.
Next time, your note will be written more like your edited version—so you won't need to repeat the same edits.

### Tip: Be sure to click Learn after making changes in your EMR to help the AI improve over time!

If Comprehend isn’t picking up your voice during a visit, follow these quick steps to get things working again. Most issues are caused by microphone access settings or external audio devices.

✅ 1. How Comprehend Uses Your Microphone

Comprehend uses your computer’s microphone to transcribe your visit in real time. It works directly from the browser, using our extension. If the extension doesn't have access to your microphone hear, it won’t be able to fill out your note.

✅ 2. Make Sure Your Microphone Is Unmuted

Check if your mic is muted by pressing F8 (this is a mute/unmute key on many keyboards and headsets).
If using a headset, lapel mic, or AirPods, make sure they're connected and functioning.
If wanting to use your computer's microphone please disconnect from Bluetooth

✅ 3. Using your computer’s microphone

Make sure your computer is set to use its built-in microphone and speakers.

✅ 4. Check Chrome Microphone Permissions

Comprehend runs in Chrome, so it must be allowed to use your mic:

Click the puzzle piece icon (Extensions) at the top-right of Chrome.
Find Comprehend, then click the three vertical dots next to it.
Select “View Web Permissions.”
Under Microphone, make sure it's set to “Allow.”
